About The Gentle Shepherd

Hi, I'm Kaitlyn!

I'm the owner of The Gentle Shepherd, and animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. From dogs and cats to birds and even a horse, caring for animals has always been my greatest passion and inspired my career. I completed professional grooming school, am Pet First Aid certified, and received specialized training in anesthesia-free canine teeth cleaning at North America's only academically recognized and state-accredited school for this field, where I learned specialized skills and techniques directly from a veterinarian.

My passion for canine dental care began with my Yorkie, Oscar. When an enlarged heart made anesthesia too risky, discovering anesthesia-free teeth cleaning allowed us to continue caring for his oral health and quality of life. That experience inspired me to provide the same patient, gentle care for other dogs.

The name The Gentle Shepherd was inspired by my Shepherd cross, Indie, who is my constant sidekick and adventure buddy. We do just about everything together, and she reminds me every day of the trust, patience, and kindness every dog deserves.

I'm proud to serve dogs and their families in our community, and I look forward to helping your dog maintain a cleaner, healthier smile.
